Grátsmýri (Weeping Marsh)

Þórólfur heljarskinn (“Dark-skinned”) wept when Jökull caught up with him at Grátsmýri (Weeping Marsh).

More: Þórólfur heljarskinn (“Dark-skinned”) fled from the fortifications at Friðmundarárgil and “got to a marsh by the river, and Jökull followed. When Þórólfur saw that he could not escape, he sat down in the marsh and wept, and since then it has been called Grátsmýri (Weeping Marsh). Jökull approached and said that he was a great scoundrel and villain, but devoid of courage. Jökull then dealt him a mortal blow.”
