Jökull and Þorsteinn erected a scorn-pole at Borg, to express their disgust with the men of Borg.
More: Due to a storm, Finnbogi and Bergur failed to turn up to fight the duels they had arranged below the farmstead at Borg. But the brothers Þorsteinn and Jökull were there as agreed, with Brandur. “The brothers waited until mid-afternoon, and then Jökull and Brandur went to Finnbogi’s sheepshed nearby, and took a post and carried it out to the field-wall. There were horses there, which had taken shelter from the storm. Jökull carved a man’s head on the end of the post, and cut into it the runes of the curse. Then Jökull killed a mare, and they opened up her breast and stuck her on the post, facing towards Borg. They then went home, and stayed the night with Brandur, where they were merry that evening.”
